At 8 am today Sept. 24th, I found an AMERICAN BITTERN on the water
district property from the Guadalupe River Trail north of Coleman Rd.
Later I met Ann Verdi but we were unable to find the bittern.
Also seen along GRT or at the water district were
Green Heron 2
Black-crowned Night-Heron 1
Cooper's Hawk 1
American Kestrel 1
California Quail 7
Belted Kingfisher 1
Western Wood-Pewee 1
Willow Flycatcher 1
Cedar Waxwing 8
Barn Swallow 4
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 3
Yellow Warbler 15+
Yellow-rumped Warbler 5
Common Yellowthroat 8+
Wilson's Warbler 1
Western Tanager 2
White-crowned Sparrow 3
Lincolns Sparrow 1
One Orange crowned Warbler, Taiga type was also seen on the GRT.
