Hi SBBers,
09/01. After the Stilt Sandpiper reported by Mike Rogers
disappeared, the ever increasing in size, group of birders moseyed a
little farther out the spur track to the last large pond on the left
side (Alviso side). Various birders contributed their spotting
skills. We soon had a single STILT SANDPIPER in view (10:25 am).
Later, as if by magic, a flock of 3 Stilt Sandpipers materialized and
was enjoyed by all. The flock would disperse from time to time and
then reform later keeping things interesting. Finally, we had a
single Stilt Sandpiper casually foraging only 35 feet away. This
went on for 20 minutes and I wished our photographers had been there.
These birds were all juveniles and I can only say I saw 3 for sure.
