This morning 9/1/07 at about 9:00am, a juvenile STILT SANDPIPER was in New Chicago Marsh, north of the railroad tracks on the way out to the main Alviso line. A worn adult PECTORAL SANDPIPER was in the big pond south of the tracks a little further out, shortly before the track junction. The Pec showed up suddenly and disappeared just as suddenly, only being present for about ten minutes. The Stilt Sandpiper was much more obliging, but fairly distant (scope needed).
Note that the dike that runs along pond A16 from the EEC runs along the south shore of that pond, heading straight east-west. The railroad spur runs west-northwest east-southeast out near the junction...just so everyone is oriented correctly...
