Bill Bousman reported:
"This morning, 10/3/07, I birded the ranger station and fennel patch
at the Palo Alto Baylands... Sedentary species included a Tom Grey
staking out the
morning light and photographing Bushtits (among others)."
Well I sure was enjoying the morning light, though I missed seeing Bill.
I've found the best way to get birds close enough to photograph in the
fennel is to find a likely spot and just wait quietly for them to come.
This morning's haul, including a couple of YELLOW WARBLERS and my first
photographed "MYRTLE" of the Fall, are the first six photos on
http://www.pbase.com/tgrey/baylandsfall07 .
Three of them are the first three on http://www.pbase.com/tgrey/latest .
No rarities. And no Bushtits either.
