Title: Breeding Bird Count

Recent posts from Jack Cole, Garth Harwood, and myself have indicated the need for more counters in the Palo Alto Breeding Bird Count.  The evidence from this and other breeding bird counts are used to gather evidence of population trends in bird populations.  A recent paper in Nature, "West Nile virus emergence and large-scale declines of North American bird populations" is a case in point.  Our count has gone on for many years.  Counters and chairmen are needed each year if these data are to be trusted.  If you can help at any level please contact Jack Cole [[email protected]] and register to help on June 2 this year.
