[SBB] Skyline Road goodies

All,

At our first stop this morning (5/11) on Charcoal Road a quietly singing male BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER was the best bird for Frank Vanslager and I.  Other birds included numerous singing LAZULI BUNTING, CASSIN'S VIREOS and ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS.  later at a parking pullout for upper Sanborn - Skyline County Park, just east of the Castle Rock parking area, we had calling RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES (both sides of the road but mainly the south side) and a PILEATED WOODPECKER gave a couple nice calls (one call was the wildest that I have heard).  Later, further west, we were able to spot a Red-breasted Nuthatch but were never able to find a Pileated woodpecker.

Take care,
Bob Reiling
