What began as a quiet trip to Alviso late this morning, resulted in some very nice highlights as follows:
At State and Spreckles Streets (11:30am) there was 1 WHIMBREL, 1 RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, and 3 WESTERN SANDPIPERS
At Don Edwards in the pond and on the island at the end of the boardwalk, there were 2 CASPIAN TERNS among the FORSTER'S, 6 CINNAMON TEAL, 4 NORTHERN PINTAILS, and 10 AMERICAN WIGEON
On the way out of Don Edwards, a DUNLIN was on the north side of the entrance road. A WESTERN KINGBIRD was on the wire near the intersection of Spreckles and Grand/Los Esteros. And while I was looking at the Dunlin, a flock of 12 WHITE-FACED IBIS quickly flew by from west to east, disappearing in the distance over the landfill.
