All,
On the way into work this morning 5/1/07, I birded the section of
Stevens Creek between Highway 101 and Crittenden Lane. The biggest
surprise was a singing NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH where the high tension power
lines cross over the creek. Most wintering birds have departed (only 5
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS left today) and only a few migrants were about
(1 WARBLING VIREO, 1 WILSON'S WARBLER, 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER). The
GREEN-WINGED TEAL pair is still lingering along the creek.
