Moments ago I heard familiar bird chatter in my backyard. I looked up
and saw a male* Hooded Oriole*. They've been breeding successfully in a
neighbors palm tree for many years now. I intended to buy a new feeder
this year but luckily held on to the old one. The Oriole feeder is
filled and ready for his return.
Three male Brown-headed Cowbirds visited Monday and Tuesday but I
haven't seen or heard them the past few days.
I had a new yard bird today. A Spotted Towhee was feeding on the deck
rail with Am. and Lesser Goldfinch. Two male and two female Purple Finch
are hanging around. The PUFI song fills the air much of the day.
