March 15th is the day the Great Egrets returned to the nesting colony on Shorebird Way off Shoreline Blvd. in Mountain View. Males are displaying on the nest platforms. Come see before the trees leaf out. 10 individuals this morning, one pair. I am the official recorder of this site this year, and I will need a substitute for the April count as I will be out of town. Anyone interested?
