After a company picnic at Ed Levin on Friday 6/29, I drove out to the
bald eagle nest.
One eaglet was visible. I'm guessing the other has fledged, although
it could conceivably have been hiding lower in the nest. The remaining
eaglet was flexing its wings and hopping up and down with wings
outstretched -- I was almost expecting a wind gust to carry him/her away.
I waited about 30 minutes with no sign of an adult or the other eaglet.
Not the most pleasant place to bird -- the views are limited due to
few pullouts on the VERY narrow road, someone had dumped garbage
at the best eagle nest view pullout, and Friday afternoon traffic to the
reservoir was busy, with most people treating it as a one way road/
racetrack. Driving back against the traffic flow was not fun.
