Of local interest, and perhaps for photographers, the colony of Forster
terns at Palo Alto Baylands (the San Antonio Road access off of 101 - on the
grassy island in the middle of the mudflat) now has numerous
chicks/nestlings of various ages. A scope is required for close-up views.
Also seen this morning were 2 Black Skimmers near the same island, and two
sets of Common Moorhens with juveniles in the marshes to the west of this
area.
