All,
This morning Frank Vanslager and I circled New Chicago Marsh. In
the far northeastern Pond of the marsh, on the eastern edge, were two
juvenile SNOWY PLOVERS. Salt Pond A16 had two pairs of BLACK
SKIMMERS, one pair each on the first and second islands. The male on
the second island tried to drive us off with repeated close passes. No
other obvious signs of nesting. Lots of Phalaropes a few GEATER
YELLOWLEGS and at least three SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS in the marsh.
Take care,
