It looks to me like the county line crosses the hillside northwest of
the most northwest parking lot, just at the treeline. The trail, as
I recall, moseys up from the parking lot completely within San Mateo
County, but only as it approaches the height of land does it go into
Santa Clara County. Only observers can comment on which county they
have seen this bird (or for that matter, the Sage Sparrows). This is
a tricky problem unless you always carry you pocket GPS.
