All,
This morning among the ducks in the northwestern most ponds of the Gilroy
Water Treatment Facility Frank Vanslager and I had a male BLUE-WINGED TEAL,
a male EURASIAN WIGEON and two adult MUTE SWANS. The only
other bird of note there was a singing CALIFORNIA THRASHER seen along the
edge of LLagas Creek. The water level in Coyote Reservoir is very low with
no apparent water flow from the creek inlet. The reservoir itself
had the highest concentration of COMMON MERGANSER that I have ever seen
while the sounds coming from a concentration of DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS near
the Dam face was reminiscent of Harbor Seals. Three WOOD DUCKS were
spotted near the pond downstream of
the Dam.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
