[SBB] Slate-Colored Junco

I had a SLATE-COLORED JUNCO in my backyard yesterday
about 4:45.  It was feeding on the ground with the
numerous WC and GC Sparrows, and other Juncos shortly
after a mild rain shower.  This is a new yard bird for
me.
    My first glance made me question what a Black
Phoebe would be doing on the ground!  The binoculars
were handy and I quickly recognized that it was a
Junco.  My husband and I had good looks at it.  I
could see no white wing bars.
