No rarity, but those of you who tote a camera have probably experienced
that sense of "why the heck won't those pretty tiger-stripers pose for me?"
-- as they flit through the upper branches. Well I was sitting out on my
deck yesterday afternoon (1/21), doing a little work, enjoying the
unaccustomed warmth, and with my camera and the lens that's good for
closeups at hand, when a pretty male TOWNSEND'S WARBLER did indeed strike a
pose right there on the deck rail.
