An adult GOLDEN EAGLE was atop the right most utility pole seen from the
parking lot at the beginning of the trail at Sunnyvale Water Pollution
Control Plant at 1:15 this afternoon. It was still there when I left at
1:30. Others at SWPCP mid day today included a flock of about 40
BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS, a male BLUE-WINGED TEAL, and a HORNED GREBE. The
Blue-Winged Teal, viewed from about 25 yd in direct bright light, was
strikingly beautiful with a face that appeared iridescent pink under a
black Mohawk style head stripe.
