[SBB] Sunnyvale WPCP, Alviso

Tuesday morning, 2/9/07, Pat Kenny and I went to Sunnyvale WPCP. We checked
what we could from the hill and then walked over to the corner of A4. No
loon, but there was a EURASIAN WIGEON on the west pond and 100 or more
CLARK'S and WESTERN GREBEs on A4.

Next we went to the EEC in Alviso, spotting a PEREGRINE FALCON and the male
RUFF along the entrance road as we drove in. Out the A16 levee with Dean
Manley and Mike Mammoser, we failed to find any Glaucous Gull or Ross'
Goose. On A16 there was another Eurasian Wigeon, and Mike pointed out a
male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER. After Mike and Dean left to find the Ruff, Pat
and I had 3 SANDERLINGs on the far end of the fourth island. Oddities on
A16: an AMERICAN WIGEON with cheek and lower face about the same color as
the crown and an AMERICAN COOT that wasn't black or charcoal at all, but
fading to nearly white at the waterline below a darker head.
