This afternoon I was watching a Feral Cat stocking some Kildeer in
the cow pasture next to my work place on Hellyer Dr. in San Jose,
when it flushed a WILSON'S SNIPE. Being very cryptic, the snipe
virtually disappeared into the weeds when it landed. The cat ventured
further out into the field and flushed a second snipe. I kept
thinking that this predator may soon become prey for the Coyotes and
Bobcats in the area. Will Red-tailed Hawks take cats? We have them in
abundance in this area.
