All,
Today was my first chance this year to go birding and I thought that I
would do a little "cherry picking." Unfortunately I was unable to
find any of the headliners (missed the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker by about 15
minutes [even with Dave Webber's help, he had seen it earlier], I also
missed the Black and white Warbler at Penitencia Creek Park and the Brant in the
Shoreline Overflow Parking lot). The large, male, RUFF was on the
north side of the Environmental Education Center entrance road, an adult
PEREGRINE FALCON was on a nearby power tower, the GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE was in the Penitencia Creek Park pond with the CANADA GEESE and
the pair of BARROW'S GOLDENEYE were in the northwestern corner of Shoreline
Lake.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
