On 3 Jan 07 I headed out to continue adding to my year list for the county. I made an attempt to refind the Solitary Sandpiper, but was unable to locate it. The little pool it had been using is almost completely dried up.
I went up to Shoreline Park and walked out the overflow parking lot, seeing only a group of CANADA GEESE flying away. No others were present. I continued out the levee along Stevens Creek, finding an immature COOPERÂ’S HAWK on a power tower
overlooking the Stevens Creek Tidal Marsh. The PELAGIC CORMORANT was present on the broken down boardwalk in salt pond A2W.
I then went to the Charleston Road Marsh, where the NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was fairly cooperative after hopping up on a tree branch to preen and chip.
