Hello birders,
Tonight (Feb. 17) Debbi Brusco and I led a MROSD night hike at Monte Bello Open Space Preserve. The goal was to listen for Pacific Tree Frogs, but we heard one (possibly two) COMMON POORWILL calling for several minutes while we waited for the frog chorus to begin. We were on Indian Creek Trail, hearing the calls from a northerly direction (near Black Mountain) just after dusk.
