For anyone who hasn't yet seen VARIED THRUSH this winter when they've been
so plentiful, early at Stevens Creek Park worked for me this morning --
several foraging on the ground both at the Ranger Station and at Lakeshore
Picnic Area. This time I was able to get photographs.
Fellow photographers note (what you already know if you've tried for these
elusive characters) -- they rarely get out in the sun, and don't let you
get close. I was shooting with 700mm wideopen at ISO 800, and all my
images required at least a 50% crop.
