[SBB] Stevens Creek north of Hwy 101

All,

This morning 2/16/07, I birded Stevens Creek from south of L'Avenida to the Crittenden Lane bridge. The NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH (the whiter bird) continues along the creek, providing nice looks from the west bank where the many high tension power lines cross the creek.

Other birds of interest included an immature GREEN HERON, 5 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, the continuing immature male CINNAMON TEAL (first seen 16 Jan), 5 WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS, a female ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD gathering nest material, 5 BEWICK'S WRENS, the continuing first-winter male SPOTTED TOWHEE (previously seen 30 Oct 2006 and 18 Dec 2006), 2 DARK-EYED JUNCOS, and 2 female-plumaged PURPLE FINCHES eating buds.

GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS outnumbered WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS 48+ to 7.
