[SBB] Cattle Egret (continuing)

Folks:

This afternoon, 2/12/06, I stopped by the Palo Alto Duck Pond to see 
if the CATTLE EGRET would come in to roost.  I arrived about 4:30 pm, 
before the gathering rain, and enjoyed the gulls for a while.  About 
to leave, I found the egret on the Bayshore side of the pond, perched 
on a post, just as the Ring-billed Gulls due.  The bill seemed 
somewhat discolored, as others have noted, but Garrett Lau's picture 
from yesterday shows a clean bill, so this discoloration must be a 
result of its foraging.
