This morning Frank Vanslager and I checked out the creek trail from the VTA
parking lot (north of Coleman Rd) north to Hwy 85. When we first started
(VTA parking lot entrance) we managed to find a bird giving a fairly loud chip
call but we were unable to get a good view to ID it. The bird
seemed to disappear shortly thereafter (stopped calling). Best birds today
were at least three juvenile/female HOODED ORIOLES, a WESTERN TANAGER,a few
YELLOW WARBLERS and a few GREEN HERON. The water level near Lake
Almaden was quite high. No sign of a Willow Flycatcher.
