A short lunchtime walk today at IBM's Bailey Avenue facility in south San Jose produced 2 pairs of Lawrence's Goldfinch, both males singing and both females gathering weedstems. Also noted single singing Lark Sparrow and a Warbling Vireo. In general Tree Swallows seem to be ahead of Western Bluebirds in occupying nesting boxes on the site, bringing nesting materials to boxes while some bluebirds still look like they're exploring. However, at least one box already has bluebird nestlings.
