Early in March, two Cooper's Hawks showed up in a tree
out front. I thought they might be back to start a
new nest. They have nested here for the past two
years. However, I have not seen two hawks at the same
time since that day.
Today I got a good look at a hawk that has been in the
area. It is definitely a Cooper's. But it is not
agressive. No dive bombing, although it does fly very
low through the business park. Actually it has been
seen being harrassed by crows, who evidently have
nested in the business park.
I suspect a young bird--maybe even one that was born
here. Does anyone know of any good books on Cooper's?
