[SBB] Parula continues 9/21/06

All,

This morning 9/21/06, the NORTHERN PARULA showed up in its usual alder
tree just before 7am and stayed until 7:15am, providing nice but quick
views to the four of us present. Today I noticed a few orange and dusky
flecks in a faint chest band (particularly at the sides of the breast),
so perhaps it is molting in some new feathers. Other migrants between
L'Avenida and Crittenden Lane this morning included 16 YELLOW WARBLERS
(most near the lone eucalyptus), 4+ WILSON'S WARBLERS, 1 GROSBEAK SP.,
1+ "WESTERN" FLYCATCHER and one empidonax sp., 1 HOUSE WREN (Crittenden
Lane bridge), 4+ LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, 5+ WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, my
first-of-the-season FOX SPARROW, and the female ORANGE BISHOP, again in
the creek bed grasses just north of the lone eucalyptus.
