Hi Birders-
As Mike Rogers noted, I did see the Northern Parula very early this morning. At 6:40 I reached the Parula's hangout. Not seeing anything from the levee trail, I went to the path under the trees. At 6:45 the Parula flew in from the W over the levee and landed in the alder next to the last poplar (could be the other way around). It stayed very still but I managed a few glimpses of it preening. It eventually moved to the outer branches providing excellent views. I left at 7:30, the birding over for the morning. From then on I was too busy to post. In the afternoon, between runs to Orchard Supply and Home Despot, I stopped in Alviso where I found the lame Ruff in the second pond E of the tracks N (400 yds) of the EEC entrance road at around 1:30.
Dave Weber,
Milpitas
