This afternoon, in spite of the wind, I checked out Stevens Creek
from La Avenida to the Tidal Marsh. The winds were too strong to hear
or see much among the waving tree branches along the creek. I did
find a Northern mockingbird, singing quietly (for a mockingbird) to
itself. It seemed to be practicing it's song. The Male Orange Bishop
was just down stream from the Crittenden Lane pedestrian bridge over
the creek, sitting atop some rushes, same location described by Al
Eisner on Sept 6.
Continuing downstream on the trail, where it divides to go around the
tidal marsh I found a Western Kingbird along the creek. It flew from
branch to branch for a bit then flew off in the direction of
Crittenden Marsh.
