[SBB] American Bittern (Santa Clara Water District)

SBBers,

This morning, 10/27/06, standing on the east side of the Guadalupe River, I was watching a GREEN HERON on the west side behind the Santa Clara Water District facility when an AMERICAN BITTERN appeared suddenly behind it causing it to fly off.  The AMBI moved south a few feet weaving through the reeds and quickly disappeared from view.

There were also 8 WILSON'S SNIPE visible.  Two were on the west bank.  The rest of them were slightly hidden in a dried reedy patch out in the river.
