Yellow-rumped, winter plumage.

Talk about over-thinking a problem. Alvaro helped me see that it's
another black phoebe. that was my first guess, and I talked myself
out of it. I even found the bird at a place where a month ago, I shot
a picture of what was probably the same bird and IDed it as a black
phoebe.

Another young white-crowned.
(to misquote "all that jazz", you folks may never make me a great
birder, but I really appreciate your willingness and patience in
making me a BETTER one...)
