Subject: [SBB] more Cacklers
"... I went by way of Bailey Road, where I found all
the geese in a corn stubble field there. Here, I could
closely scrutinize the 35 CACKLING GEESE in with them
(the exact same number I saw fly over!)."
This morning (Tuesday 11/21) on the south side of
Bailey in a stubble field halfway betw Monterey and
Santa Teresa were approximately 360 Geese. It was
foggy and there were still more goose ghosts in the
field further south. These were not included, so the
true numbers likely eclipsed 400 and certainly could
have been much higher.
The reasonably visible scopable group held 7 Cackling
Geese, 1 Aleutian Cackling Goose, and 2 Greater
White-fronted Geese.
Good birding,
Bob Power
