After leaving Bob and Frank in Ed Levin this morning, 15 Nov 06, I went to the Palo Alto Golf Course to check for geese. There were some CANADAS hanging out near the pond at the end of Geng Road, but nothing else unusual. So, I walked the paved trail to the rusty bridge, where I could see a flock of Canada Geese out on the course. I moved around and looked at them from various angles but could only see a CACKLING GOOSE in with them.
I decided to head back to the pond and hadn't gone very far when the whole flock got up in the air with a whole lot of honking. I quickly saw that the BRANT was in with them, and they circled right over my head and went straight for the other side of the course, where I figured they must have lit on the pond. When I got back there, all the unusual geese were on the water - BRANT, CACKLING GOOSE, and 3 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE. I guess I just had to go out and round them up.
