All,
On Saturday's (11/11) SCVAS field trip the best birds were a female MERLIN
and a gorgeous bright red FOX SPARROW (subspecies Taiga). Also at one
point all five of us independently decided that we were hearing the call of a
very late SWAINSON'S THRUSH (lots of HERMIT THRUSH calling in the same
area). Unfortunately, we were unable to locate the bird before it stopped
calling. It didn't rain on us during the trip but we had to contend with
lots of blowing mist.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
