[SBB] Fwd: Sat birding at Charleston Slough

try this again... it bounched the 1st time

The family and I went birding at Charleston Slough around 3:30 pm
on Sat.  We had a lovely, birdy walk.  We saw the "usual suspects:"
coots, Anna's hummingbird, seagulls (don't have the skills to tell
you who!), white pelicans, killdeer, marbled godwits, avocets,
stilts, the pair of kits, mallards, northern shovelers, double creasted
comororants, cinnamon teals, snowy egret, golden crowned sparrow
white crowned sparrow, american widgeon, northern harrier.
We were delighted to see green winged teal--close in, so we got a good
view.

But the thrill of the day:  the northern harrier swooped over "to the left"
into the territory of the kites.  We saw the kites harrass the harrier
and chase it out of the area--fascinating to watch!!  Then the kites took
a perch in their favorite tree, looking very satisfied.  Definitely the
highlight of our walk.
