All,
This morning it was cold, damp and windy on Charcoal Rd and Frank Vanslager
and I had very few birds on it (up to where the trail becomes
steep) or on the short loop of the eastern Grizzly Flat Trail.
On Charcoal Rd. Frank did manage to locate a HERMIT WARBLER (I saw the bird fly
but was unfortunately unable to relocate it). Other Warblers included
BLACK-THROATED GRAY,YELLOW-RUMPED and ORANGE-CROWNED. The only
other birds of note were CASSIN'S VIREO, WARBLING VIREO and HUTTON'S
VIREO. On the Grizzly Flat Trail we heard several PILEATED WOODPECKER
calls coming from general direction of Table Mountain.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
