[SBB] Alviso phalaropes

Yesterday (22 April), a Red-necked Phalarope was in New Chicago Marsh at
State and Spreckles. A loop around Alviso salt ponds A9-A15 (reached from
the Alviso marina) produced hundreds of lingering scaup of both species, as
well as a few Canvasbacks, American Wigeon, Green-winged Teal, and
Red-breasted Mergansers. Several Herring and Glaucous-winged Gulls, as well
as a first-cycle Thayer's Gull, were still around as well. About 200
Bonaparte's Gulls were at scattered locations in Alviso. Northern Harriers
were nest-building in the marsh along Coyote Slough.

This morning (23 April), there were 9 Red-necked Phalaropes in the
impoundment along the railroad tracks north of the Alviso marina and east of
salt pond A12. Elsewhere around the ponds were 3 more Red-necked Phalaropes
and a Brown Pelican.
