[SBB] Hidden Villa (3/20) and Ed Levin Co Pk (3/18)

All,

This morning Frank Vanslager and I were unable to find a Hermit Warbler in Hidden Villa.  A hike along the Bunny Trail (long route) did produce a FOS WILSON'S WARBLER as well as ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, TOWNSEND'S WARBLER, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, calling CALIFORNIA THRASHER, BEWICK'S WREN, a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, and a couple silent HUTTON'S VIREO.  In the parking lot we had a nice, singing WARBLING VIREO, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK and a couple COMMON RAVEN to name a few.  In the category of better late than never I should report that on Tuesday (4/18) in Ed Levin Park (unfortunately north of Calabazas Ave) we failed to find the goodies recently reported by Mike Mammoser (via Mike Rogers) but we did have a FOS male YELLOW WARBLER (this bird was unusual in that it had reddish streaking on the chest and flanks as well as a fairly  bright, reddish crown), a FOS male BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER, and a FOS PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER.

Take care,
Bob Reiling
