Big Basin Redwoods State Park invites you to the 5th Annual Wings Over the Basin on May 19-21. Experience the park's varied birdlife at the height of the nesting season on guided bird and butterfly walks. Scroll down to see the schedule of activities; all activities are free and open to the public.
We are lucky to have a special group campsite under the redwoods near headquarters ($15/per person for the weekend). Space at the group campsite is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot soon by going to our website, downloading the Registration PDF, and sending in the registration form.
Check out our website at:

Whether you camp at the park or drive in for the day ($6 day use/parking fee), whether you are an experienced birder or a beginning birder, I look forward to seeing you at Wings Over the Basin.

7:00 AM - Birding by Ear with Todd Newberry
Such tall trees, such deep shadows! But you hear the birds you can't see. We will learn how to listen, and we will try to learn a half-dozen kinds of birds out of the many we will hear. And we will try to make sense of what these birds are up to when they sing or -- not the same -- when they call. 2 miles, 3 hours. Meet at Park Headquarters.
10:00 to 11:00 AM - Booksigning
Bring your copy of "The Ardent Birder" to Park Headquarters and author Todd Newberry will sign it!
