[SBB] Guadalupe Oak Grove Park

I birded at Guadalupe Oak Grove Park this morning and heard several Hermit Thrush softly singing their flute-like song. I spotted a Peregrine Falcon soaring over the open area and got a closer look as it flew overhead. Two White throated Swifts were also seen. A pair of W. Bluebirds seen near the bathrooms and another pair at McAbee and Thorntree Dr.

Along the wooded trail two Orange crowned Warblers were seen and another heard. A male Wilson's Warbler was harder to find in the same area. A dozen stunning Yellow rumped Warblers flocked in several trees.. I cheered on a Coopers Hawk chasing three Starlings and then felt a bit guilty. I saw the Coopers along the wooded trail yesterday near a pretty good sized stick nest which I didn't find today. Didn't see or hear the Kiehl's Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. A pair of Robins were bringing nesting material to a tree limb hanging over Thorntree Dr. Another Bushtit nest found by following the birds to the location. I was chased home by the rain and returned after lunch. I found Bushtits feeding young in yet another nest over the parking lot. The nest was barely holding together as an Anna's Hummingbird tore off a bit of spider web. I heard a familiar pik call and found my FOS male Black headed Grosbeak overhead. I spotted a Huttons Vireo calling for the first time in months for this park. Also found two more Orange crowned Warblers near the S. W. corner of the park. The wooded trail was full of birds as I came across four male Bullocks Orioles. I spooked a flock of 40 Band tailed Pigeons walking back to the car and met Ann Verdi who was just arriving.
