[SBB] Palo Alto Baylands/Duck Pond , 4/5/2006

Spent a little time Wednesday afternoon at the pond, mostly watching
the herons (along with a growing number of other photogs...).

Pretty much the usual suspects at this point. Only two things really
came to note:

first, there are two pheasants there, not one. I actually saw both on
the same trip. One's down by the bathroom down near the boat dock.
the other is up near the bridge (where I first saw the pheasant a
while back....), in the brush out behind the closed parking lot.
Unless he can boogie back and forth without anyone else noticing in
under 2 minutes, I think it's safe to say we have multiple nests and
multiple couples.

second, playing "one of these is not like the other" down at the duck
pond, I found a couple of northern pintail drakes. I've got pictures
coming (slowly). Also, I think, a couple of hens, but I don't have
shots of them.

Very funny, Scotty. Now beam my clothes down here, will you?
