[SBB] Snow Geese etc.

At lunch today, 6 Mar 06, I went to the EEC and refound Dave Weber's SNOW
GEESE. There was 9 of them sitting on the second island west of the
building, and they were all immature.

Yesterday, 5 Mar 06, I made various stops around my neighborhood. First was
at Ogier Ponds, where swallows were quite numerous, mostly TREE and
VIOLET-GREEN but with at least 2 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED as well. A GREEN
HERON flushed from the pond north of the model airplane field, and 3 COMMON
MOORHENS scattered into the cattails at my approach. A pair of HOODED
MERGANSERS was on a pond set back from the trail, but no female Redhead was
found this day.

I stopped at Coyote Creek Golf Course and checked for the redstart, without
finding it. I did have a HOUSE WREN at that spot, "churring" up in an oak
tree. It didn't sing, but I would assume that it is a migrant, since this
area has been well birded recently without this species being seen. Nothing
of note at the clubhouse, but a handful of WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS was over
the driving range battling the winds (or perhaps just playing with them).

I walked the bike path along Coyote Creek from Metcalf to Coyote Ranch Road.
A group of 5 LARK SPARROWS was foraging at the edge of the path about
halfway between, and a beautiful RED-SHOULDERED HAWK sat obligingly.
