[SBB] Grasshopper Sparrows, Monte Bello OSP

Two singing Grasshopper Sparrows were observed simultaneously at the top of the White Oak Trail at Monte Bello OSP at 7:30 AM today, 6/1/2006. They were within a few yards of the green metal gate where that trail first turns down-canyon, about 1/2 mile from the parking lot.

 

27 Band-tailed Pigeons in 2 groups (20 and 7) were flying vigorously toward the urban zone - support for the commuter theory?
