All:
A belated report on Tuesday. At 2:30 the Screech Owl was surveying
his domain when the bobcat marched down the center of the road. He
seemed small and with few spots, but fearless. After most of the
usual suspects in a loop past the farm and returning atop the hill, a
singing male Lazuli Bunting popped up at the copse of trees by the
upper farmhouse. It seems way late for a migrant, but an unlikely
place for breeding. Maybe the Palo Alto summer counters can re-find
it on Saturday.
