Folks:
This morning, 5/10/06, I made a leisurely stop at the Ulistac Natural Area
in Santa Clara to look for May migrants. No great excitement, but there
are still a few of the later migrants coming through. Birds that I though
likely migrants included a silent OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, three WARBLING
VIREOS (one singing), a singing SWAINSON'S THRUSH, three singing WILSON'S
WARBLERS, five WESTERN TANAGERS (one singing), and two singing BLACK-HEADED
GROSBEAKS. The vireos and grosbeaks may breed here on rare occasions--that
would be a nice find.
