[SBB] recent birds, and pix

Friday I went to Hidden Villa early, in search of a Lazuli Bunting to
photograph, following Garth Harwood's report. No luck, but it's a beautiful
spot at sunrise, and I got a Western Bluebird photo. (Photos at
http://www.pbase.com/tgrey/latest )

Anyone have a nice staked-out Lazuli who likes to pose? -- I'd love to get
a photo of one, don't have a good one.

On to the Baylands duckpond, in search of the reported Cattle Egret. No
luck on that, but got a Canada Goose with 4 goslings in line. Over to the
Byxbee side, where I heard a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE singing at the entrance to
the parking lot, and after I waited a while a first summer male popped out
and posed for me. So first summer males do sing -- I don't know if they
breed.

Saturday morning I went to first to Alviso, where I photographed a
BURROWING OWL right beside the entrance road to the EEC. Then on to Ed
Levin Park, with hopes for a Blue Grosbeak on the lower slopes above Sandy
Wool Lake. (Hiking further up to Rufous-crowned Sparrow territory is still
a bit much for my knee.) No luck on the grosbeak, but by the dog park I got
a shot of another Bullock's Oriole, this an adult male.
