I've found this squirrel discussion really interesting and
illuminating. Not to hijack a birding list with squirrel talk, but
can the squirrel experts recommend a good book, or mailing list
or other resource, covering this level of detail regarding local
mammals? The wild mammal books I see in stores are far less detailed,
and less numerous, than bird books; but I like any sort of wildlife.
...Akkana (who has much better luck feeding squirrels in my
San Jose backyard than I ever had with bird seed feeders)
